Music
Outside of academia, I have been an active musician for over 10 years. I currently serve as Chairman, Principal Tuba, and composer-in-residence of Whitwell Brass Band. Before that, I was an Organ Scholar at Nottingham Cathedral, studying under the renowned organist Colin Walsh, immersing myself in a rich repertoire spanning from Gregorian plain chant to modern sacred compositions.
My journey in musicianship began with teaching myself the piano at age 13. Since then, I have played the clarinets, saxophones, recorders, trumpet, trombone, and tuba in a variety of ensembles including musicals, concert bands, swing bands, and brass bands. I worked as a semi-professional pit musician for productions including The Wiz, Annie, Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, Happy Days, and Billy Elliot.

COMPOSING/ARRANGING
I have experience in composing and arranging for brass bands, choirs, and solo piano.
